Conflicts - over materials, space and playmates - are a normal part of the day in every preschool classroom. Though challenging for adults, such conflicts offer children important opportunities to learn social, language and cognitive skills. We will watch and discuss a video that shows children as they resolve actual conflicts witht he help of their teachers. We will compare how the HighScope problem solving process shown in the video compares to that of Second Step and CSEFEL. There will also be time to share ideas and materials for incorporating problem solving into your classroom. Presented by Elly Majonen, HCRS/Children's Integrated Services/Early Childhood and Family Mental Health
