Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS)/Abusive Head Trauma (AHT) is the name given to the physical abuse and the traumatic brain injuries that can occur when a baby or young child is violently shaken. This training looks at the causes, symptoms, and outcomes for children who have been shaken. We will explore why babies cry and how best to console them; identify stressors common among those caring for young children (parents and caregivers) and safe ways to manage these frustrations; and what to do if you suspect that a child has been shaken. Participants will gain knowledge on how they can protect all babies they love from Shaken Baby Syndrome.
