Working with wood is a great way for young children to be creative. Beginner-level skills and only a few low-tech tools are needed. This workshop is designed to provide a hands-on experience for educators who want to teach children to work with wood, yet have limited or no experience with woodworking. Guided by a woodworker who has worked with children, you will learn about basic tools, how to put wood together, what woods to use and where to get them, how to prepare projects and set up your classroom workspace, and how to adjust a project to the particular needs of a child.
