Did you know that Windham Child Care Association is a key force advocating for high-quality child care and education for our children and communities? As a member of the Building Bright Futures Council, Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children, and other statewide advocacy groups, your donation helped us to promote Governor Shumlin's $5 million dollar investment into the child care system for this coming fiscal year. This includes:
*$3.4 M for STep Ahead Recognition System (STARS)incentives, and
*$1.6 M for CCFAP, including $600,000 to bring the income eligibility guidelines to 2013 federal poverty levels
We are planning our third annual Fall Into Art benefit on October 25th. Area artists are invited to participate by having their artwork be a part of our exciting silent auction. Artists can take home up to 50% of the final sale price of their art. Read on to learn more about this opportunity.
We are working with Windham County Farm to School to explore the interest and potential for developing a coordinated local

Last October, 100 local artists generously donated artwork to our Fall Into Art benefit. Art that was not raffled off that night can now be purchased right here, along with some beautiful notecards designed by young children. Or swing by our offices at 130 Birge St to see the whole selection!
The last report, published in 2002, provided important information for businesses, town officials and other community members on the need for quality affordable child care.
